Certified Translation
A certified translation is a word-for-word translation required for official use by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), universities, colleges, state or federal institutions and courts.
All our certified translations are issued in accordance with the regulations established by the USCIS, the institution that most frequently requires this type of document. A certified translation includes a certificate issued on our corporate letterhead signed by the translator and a U.S. Language Services representative in PDF format.
The price for a certified translation is $39.00 per page. No hidden fees.
Each page may contain up to 250 words or fewer including numbers. Pages may be letter size (8.5″ x 11″), A4 or smaller and one sided.
For languages that use logograms, such as Chinese, Korean and Japanese, each character is considered a word.
When you order a certified translation, the most significant variable is how the pages of the document are calculated. We take into consideration both the number of physical pages in your original document and the total word count.
Each page may contain up to 250 words. Pages may be letter size (8.5″ x 11″), A4 or smaller and one sided.
For example: A project with 2 physical pages that each contain 500 words (1,000 words total), is calculated as 4 pages (1,000 words ÷ 250 = 4 pages).
Don’t worry. Our team reviews each order individually. If the number of pages is greater, we’ll contact you with instructions on how to proceed. If you ordered pages in excess, we’ll issue you a refund using the same payment method.
For most common languages, including Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian and Chinese you can expect to receive:
- A 1-3 page translation in 2 business days
- A 4-10 page translation in 4 business days
- An 11-20 page translation in 6 business days
- A 20+ page translation in 6+ business days
For orders in other language pairs, our team will review your document and provide you with the delivery date once you place your order.
Note: Orders placed after 4 p.m. EST (Eastern Standard Time) will be processed on the following business day. Delivery dates exclude weekends & holidays.
All certified translations are delivered in PDF format; we do not mail physical copies.
Our translators have years of experience in the translation industry and specialize in different areas of service. Many of them have graduate degrees and certificates in fields such as law and engineering.
No, we do not provide apostille services.
In a certified translation, currency values cannot be converted; the currency shown in the original document must be maintained.
If you need the monetary amount to be shown in a different currency, the original document must include the conversion or a note indicating the exchange rate at the time the document was issued. In such cases, only the exchange-rate note will be translated.
The same applies to units of measurement, no conversions can be made, such as:
- inches to centimeters
- gallons to liters
- miles to kilometers

Sworn Translation
A sworn translation (traducción jurada) is a legally valid translation required by Spanish consulates, immigration authorities, courts, and public administration. Unlike certified translations used in the US, sworn translations must be performed by a translator officially accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
All our sworn translations include the sworn translator’s Ministry accreditation number, the digital signature issued by the FNMT (Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre), and a copy of the original document. They are accepted for visa applications, residency permits, academic recognition, and all official procedures in Spain and the EU.
The price for a sworn translation from English to Spanish is $39.00 per page. No hidden fees.
Everything is included: the sworn translator’s certification with their accreditation number from the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and their digital signature from the FNMT. No additional costs.
Each page may contain up to 250 words or fewer including numbers. Pages may be letter size (8.5″ x 11″), A4 or smaller and one-sided.

No. We currently provide sworn translations only from English into Spanish and Spanish into English. We do not offer sworn translations between other language pairs.
Your document will be translated by a sworn translator (traductor jurado) officially accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
To obtain this accreditation, translators must pass a rigorous examination administered by the Spanish Government. Upon passing, they receive an official identification number and sworn translator credential authorizing them to translate from a specific language.
Most sworn translators hold a university degree in Translation and Interpreting or a related field, ensuring both linguistic expertise and professional competence.
All of our sworn translators are accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and are included in the official register.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs grants the sworn translator designation to each sworn translator individually once they have passed the relevant exams. It does not grant accreditation to companies — not to us nor to any other company.
All of our translators are accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs; therefore, all of our sworn translations are valid before any Spanish public authority.
Your sworn translation will be delivered in PDF format via email, ready for immediate submission.
The PDF you receive is the original, legal document. It contains a valid electronic signature as required by Spanish law (Orden AUC/213/2025), which includes the sworn translator’s name, registration number, and accredited language. This digital signature has full legal validity and eliminates the need for physical stamps or seals.
Spanish authorities accept this format. You can verify the signature authenticity at valide.redsara.es.
No, we do not provide apostille services. However, here’s what you need to know before ordering your sworn translation:
The apostille must be obtained before the translation, not after. This is a common mistake that can delay your visa application.
Correct process:
- Get your document apostilled in the state in which it was issued (or through the U.S. Department of State for federal documents).
- Send us the apostilled document.
- We translate both the document and the apostille.
Spanish consulates require the sworn translation to include the apostille, so both must be translated as one complete document.
Notarization
Yes. We offer notarization as an add-on to our certified translations. This service is priced per document, since each translation is notarized separately with its own notary stamp and signature.
How it works:
- Notarization is $39 per document.
- If you don’t need notarization for all of your documents, let us know which ones you’d like notarized when placing your order.
- Certified and notarized translations are delivered as PDF files.
- We notarize the certified translation only — we cannot notarize your original document. If you need the original notarized, please have that done before submitting it for translation.
Example: If you’re ordering certified translations for a birth certificate, a marriage certificate, and a bank certificate, you can notarize all three documents, just one, or any combination. You’ll only pay $39 for each translation you choose to notarize.
A notarized certified translation combines two things: a certified translation (which includes a signed certificate of accuracy attesting that the translation is complete and accurate) and a notarization, in which a U.S.-commissioned notary witnesses and notarizes the signature of our company representative.
Notarization adds an official layer of authentication to the certified translation, which some institutions, courts, and authorities require.
We offer notarial acknowledgments for certified translations. A notarial acknowledgment is the most widely accepted form of notarization for certified translations and is recognized by courts, government agencies, and institutions across the United States.
Remote Online Notarization (RON) is a fully digital notarization process conducted via live video session. Instead of appearing in person before a notary, the signer connects with a U.S.-commissioned notary online, signs the document during the session, and the notarization is completed electronically. No paper, no in-person meeting required.
For our certified translations, RON means your notarized document is delivered as a secure, tamper-evident PDF, accepted by courts, government agencies, and institutions across all 50 states.
Yes. Under the U.S. Constitution’s Full Faith and Credit Clause and interstate recognition doctrines, properly executed RON-notarized documents are recognized in all 50 states and D.C. Narrow exceptions exist for certain document categories (such as real estate recordings and wills), but these typically do not apply to certified translations.
That said, individual institutions have their own acceptance policies. We always recommend confirming with the receiving institution that they will accept an electronically notarized document before placing your order.
Most U.S. federal and state courts accept RON-notarized documents. However, some jurisdictions have specific requirements regarding the format or certification of notarized documents submitted as court filings.
We recommend confirming with the relevant court clerk that an electronically notarized translation will be accepted before placing your order.
While RON-notarized certified translations are broadly accepted across the United States, there are some situations where electronic notarization may not be accepted. These include certain real estate transactions, wills and estate documents, and submissions to some foreign authorities that require wet-ink notarization.
We recommend confirming with the receiving institution that they will accept an electronically notarized document before placing your order.
USCIS does not require notarization for certified translations. A signed certificate of accuracy is sufficient under federal regulations. However, some attorneys or specific circumstances may call for a notarized translation as an added layer of documentation.
When submitting documents to foreign embassies, consulates, or authorities in Hague Apostille countries, the requirement typically applies to the original document rather than its translation. In most cases, foreign authorities will require that the original document be apostilled and/or notarized, not the certified translation itself.
We recommend confirming the specific requirements with the relevant embassy, consulate, or receiving authority in the destination country before placing your order.
Our notarizations are performed by U.S.-commissioned notaries authorized to perform Remote Online Notarization. Our notaries are commissioned in Florida, Virginia, or Pennsylvania. The specific notary assigned to your session will be identified in the notarized document you receive.
If the receiving institution requires that the notarization be performed by a notary commissioned in a specific state, we recommend confirming this requirement before placing your order.
Notarization can be added to your certified translation order during checkout by selecting the notarization option. It is available for all language combinations. Please note that notarization is only available for certified translations, as standard translations do not include a certificate of accuracy.
Notarization must be requested per document. For example, if your order includes a marriage certificate, a birth certificate, and a diploma, and you want all three notarized, you will need to request three notarizations. If you only need some of your documents notarized, simply indicate which ones in the order notes.
Once your certified translation is complete, we will send it to you for review and approval. Notarization will only proceed after we have received your written confirmation that the translation meets your requirements. This ensures that the final notarized document accurately reflects your needs without the need for re-notarization in the event of any changes.
Notarization is charged at $39 per document. Since each document requires its own notarial act, the fee applies individually to each translated document you wish to notarize. For example, if your order includes a marriage certificate, a birth certificate, and a diploma and you want all three notarized, the notarization fee would be $117 (3 x $39).
If you only need some of your documents notarized, that is not a problem. Simply let us know which documents you want notarized when placing your order and we will notarize only those.
You will receive your notarized certified translation via email as a PDF document. The file will include a certificate of accuracy bearing the signature of our company representative, the translated document, and a notarial acknowledgment for online notarization. Please note that we do not mail physical copies of any documents.
The notarization itself does not expire. As long as the notary’s commission was valid at the time of notarization, the notarized document remains valid, even if the notary’s commission subsequently expires.
However, some institutions may have their own policies regarding how recently a document must have been notarized. We recommend confirming any such requirements with the receiving institution before placing your order.
It is also important to note that some original documents have an inherent expiration by nature, such as criminal records or other documents that must be recent to be valid. In those cases, once the original document expires, the certified translation of that document is no longer valid regardless of notarization, as the underlying document it reflects is no longer current. A new certified translation of the updated original document, along with its notarization, would be required.
Yes, expedited service is available for notarized certified translations in over 25 language combinations, including Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, and German. Please note that orders placed after 4 p.m. EST will be processed on the following business day.
We provide electronic notarization only. It is worth noting that foreign institutions that require notarization typically require that the original document be notarized rather than the translation of that document.
We recommend confirming the specific notarization requirements with the receiving institution before placing your order.
